SOP Title: Cleaning of 3 Micron Pocket Type Filters
- Objective:
To lay down a procedure for the cleaning of 3 Micron Pocket Type Filters.
- Scope:
This procedure is applicable for the cleaning of 3 Micron Pocket Type Filters by the Engineering Department.
- Responsibility:
3.1 Engineering Department: To prepare and review the SOP. To follow the procedure laid down for the Cleaning of 3 Micron Pocket Type Filters as per this SOP.
3.2 Quality Assurance Department: To review and approve the SOP and Annexures. Ensure compliance to SOP.

5. Procedure:

- Definitions:
5.1.1 Engineering Associate: Executive or Operator of Engineering Department trained to
perform duties as per this SOP.
5.2. Operational Procedure:
Safety Precautions/Instructions: | ||
5.2.1 | Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment while Cleaning the 3 Micron Type Filters. | |
5.2.2 | Ensure all the electrical connections are properly earthed. | |
5.2.3 | Inspect electrical cables and connectors for any sign of damage. | |
5.2.4 | Ensure that the ON/OFF push button is working properly. | |
5.2.5 | Use proper maintenance tools while cleaning the 3 Micron Pocket Type Filters. | |
5.2.6 | Ensure that a trained person is carrying out the cleaning activity. | |
5.2.7 | Inform to the user department before the start of cleaning activity. | |
Operation: | ||
5.2.8 | Inform and get the clearance from the respective department where the filter cleaning activity is carried out. | |
5.2.9 | Put “OFF” the power supply through Main Circuit Breaker of the system by pressing the RED push button of the Starter. | |
5.2.10 | Press the Green ON/OFF switch of the De-humidifier in Anti clockwise direction to close it. | |
5.2.11 | Close the chilled water outlet and inlet valves of the cooling coil by rotating knob in clockwise direction. | |
5.2.12 | Open the doors of the AHU/HVAC and take out the filter by removing the nut & bolts for cleaning. | |
5.2.13 | Place the filters in the Polyethylene bag & transfer filters to designated cleaning area. | |
5.2.14 | Clean the filter as per define in Annexure. | |
5.2.15 | Inspect the filters visually for any damage and cleanliness. | |
5.2.16 | In case of a filter replacement record all the details in “Filter Replacement Record” as per Annexure. | |
5.2.17 | Pack the cleaned filters in the Polythene bags and transfer them to the respective AHU/ HVAC. | |
5.2.18 | Re-fix the filter, check the gasket and tighten all the nut and bolts. | |
5.2.19 | Close the door and put ON the power supply by pressing the Green push button of the starter as well as Green ON/OFF switch of the De-humidifier. | |
5.2.20 | Open the chilled water outlet and inlet valves of cooling coil in Anti clockwise direction. | |
5.2.21 | Start the system and check for leakages if any. | |
5.2.22 | Record all the details in “Check List for Cleaning of 3 Micron Pocket Type Filter” as per Annexure. | |
5.2.23 | Update the “Cleaning Status Label”. | |
5.2.24 | In case any filter is found to be damaged then wash the damage filter and dry the same. After drying, separate the metal housing and filter media. Enclose in polyethylene bags separately and dispose off in the designated Scrap Disposal Area. | |
Cleaning Frequency: Every 15 Days ±3 Days. | ||
5.2.25 | Cleaning of filters of AHU/HVAC is carried out fortnightly or during Product Change Over. |
